The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 45077 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/16-inch diameter, a 0.0300-inch corner radius, and five flutes arranged in a variable-pitch spiral configuration. The APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life in demanding cuts. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 9/16-inch length of cut, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both roughing and finishing passes. It is sized for use with high-precision toolholders and is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by skilled machinists.
The 45077 is built for milling steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The variable-pitch flute geometry reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive material removal, making it well-suited for finishing passes that require tight dimensional control. The corner radius helps distribute cutting forces at the tool tip, reducing chipping on hardened or abrasive workpieces. This tool fits standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 3/16-inch shank and is part of the HEV-5 series.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders accepting a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel and cast iron, and secondary materials including stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HEV-5 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling operations. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Use a high-precision collet or shrink-fit toolholder to maintain runout within the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches. Verify tool projection and reach before beginning the cut to avoid interference with workholding fixtures.
