The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 36076 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for finishing operations in superalloys and titanium. It features an 8-flute, super-close pitch design with a 0.030 inch corner radius, delivering smooth surface finishes and extended tool life in demanding aerospace and high-performance machining environments. The APLUS PVD coating reduces heat buildup and improves wear resistance in difficult-to-machine materials. At 0.5 inch diameter with a 0.625 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length, this stub-length tool is built for rigidity in tight-clearance finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this tool for high-precision titanium and superalloy work requiring consistent corner geometry.
This end mill is suited for finishing applications in materials classified under ISO material code S, including titanium and titanium alloys as well as nickel-based and cobalt-based superalloys. The stub-length configuration limits deflection and supports aggressive feed rates in short-reach setups. The right-hand cutting, right-hand spiral flute geometry is standard for conventional CNC milling centers. The tool is non-centercutting and is intended for peripheral and contour finishing, not plunge entry. It is recommended for use with high-precision toolholders to maximize runout control and achieve the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Optimized for finishing operations in titanium, titanium alloys, and superalloy workpiece materials (ISO material code S). Non-centercutting geometry is not suitable for slot entry or plunge milling.
Install in a high-precision toolholder to maintain TIR within the specified 0.0005 inch maximum. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning any finishing pass. Do not use this end mill for plunge or slot entry cuts — it is non-centercutting. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece alloy being machined.
