The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 33602 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for aggressive material removal in steel and cast iron applications. Part of the HSVR-C-4 series, it combines a chipbreaker geometry with variable pitch flute spacing to reduce harmonics and chatter during roughing passes. The 5/8-inch diameter cutter features a 0.03-inch corner radius, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. The APLUS PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability, extending tool life in demanding ferrous machining environments. Intended for use in CNC machining centers with high-precision toolholders.
This end mill is designed for roughing operations in low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. The chipbreaker profile breaks chips into manageable segments, reducing cutting forces and heat buildup during deep-pass roughing. The variable pitch flute design suppresses vibration across a range of cutting conditions, making it well suited for aggressive radial and axial engagement strategies. Typical installation environments include production machining shops and tool rooms running 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills where cycle time reduction and surface finish control are both priorities.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSVR-C-4 series for steels, 4-flute corner radius chipbreaker roughers.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Seat the 5/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, precision toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout against the stated maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when programming axial depth of engagement.
