The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 33152 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for aggressive material removal in steel and cast iron applications. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.5 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The chipbreaker geometry along the flute profile breaks chips into manageable segments, reducing heat buildup and improving evacuation in deep pockets and slots. With a 2.5 inch overall length and a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank, this end mill mounts in standard tool holders and fits common machining centers used in production and job shop environments. Installation and operation require a machinist or CNC operator.
This end mill is built for roughing operations in low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. The variable pitch flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during high-feed roughing passes, making it well suited for mold and die work, fixture machining, and general steel part production. The Aplus PVD coating improves wear resistance and surface lubricity, supporting dry or minimally lubricated cutting strategies. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entries and ramp-in toolpaths. High precision tool holders are recommended to keep runout within the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification.
Designed for use with high precision tool holders. Primary workpiece materials are low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS HSVR-C-4 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank in a high precision collet or hydraulic tool holder to maintain runout at or below the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum. Always confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against the tool manufacturer cutting data before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for wear or chipping before each use; a damaged corner radius will affect dimensional accuracy on finished part features.
