The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 31212 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in both roughing and finishing operations. It features a 9/32 inch (0.2812 inch) mill diameter, a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius, and four flutes arranged in a variable-pitch, right-hand spiral configuration. The APLUS PVD coating extends tool life when cutting ferrous materials. With a 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, this single-end mill is built for precision work in steel, cast iron, and alloy applications where tight tolerances and surface finish both matter.
This end mill is suited for machining low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. The HSV-4 series variable-pitch geometry helps reduce harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for both roughing passes and finish contouring. It is intended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout below the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments will find this tool appropriate for precision milling of ferrous components where corner radius blending and edge integrity are required.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Suitable for machining low-alloy steel, medium alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. Intended for CNC milling applications requiring a 5/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank interface.
This end mill should be installed and set by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. The straight-cylindrical shank requires a collet or toolholder rated for 5/16 inch diameter shanks to maintain the specified TIR. Do not exceed the cutting parameters recommended for the workpiece material and coating type.
