The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 30047 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel and other ferrous materials. With a 5/32-inch (0.1562-inch) cutting diameter and a 3/16-inch length of cut, this tool delivers precise square-shoulder profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling. The APLUS coating reduces friction and heat buildup, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. A variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms.
This end mill is suited for milling steel alloys and similar materials in both conventional and climb-milling operations. The 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The 2-inch overall length accommodates typical shallow-to-moderate depth applications. Right-hand cutting and right-hand helical flutes are standard for use with conventional CNC spindle rotation. It is sold individually and is well suited for precision work requiring tight tolerances on small-diameter features.
Designed for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the Helical Solutions End Mills for Steels 4 Flute Square Variable Pitch series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before installing or changing end mills. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention system to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to production cuts.
