The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 29617 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 3.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. A proprietary Zplus PVD coating provides thermal and abrasion resistance. This tool is classified as a roughing end mill and is intended for use in CNC machining centers operated by machinists and tooling specialists.
This end mill is primarily intended for aluminum and non-ferrous metal machining, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The long-length configuration, with a 6 inch overall length and 3.25 inch length of cut, suits deep-pocket milling and cavity work where reach is a requirement. The coarse pitch and chipbreaker geometry help manage chip loads in aggressive roughing passes. Best results are achieved when paired with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout within the specified TIR maximum.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H45AL-C-3 series, intended for CNC milling applications in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully and evenly in a high-precision toolholder to stay within the 0.0003 inch maximum TIR specification. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and depth of cut. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use.
