The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 29422 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 1.625-inch length of cut, and a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The three-flute, right-hand helical geometry is optimized for chip evacuation and surface finish in softer, gummier materials. A Zplus PVD coating provides additional lubricity and heat resistance. This tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers and is typically handled by machinists and tooling specialists in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.
This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing passes on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous metals. Its coarse pitch and high helix style support aggressive material removal rates while keeping chip loads manageable. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials, making this a versatile option across a range of production setups. It is part of the H45AL-C-3 series and is designed for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout within the specified TIR maximum.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal (Material Code N). Secondary materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials (Material Codes P, M, S, H). Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H45AL-C-3 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully powered down and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use a high-precision collet or hydraulic toolholder to stay within the specified TIR maximum of 0.0003 inches. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run. Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine builder recommendations for feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut based on workpiece material and setup rigidity.
