The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 29302 is a single-end, corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. Built from solid carbide with a Zplus PVD coating, it features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.50 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius that helps reduce chipping at the cutting edge during aggressive passes. The three-flute, right-hand helical geometry paired with a coarse pitch and chipbreaker promotes efficient chip evacuation. It is center-cutting, allowing for direct plunge entry. This tool is intended for use with high precision toolholders and is suited for shops running CNC milling operations that demand tight tolerances and consistent surface finish on softer workpieces.
The 29302 is rated primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary suitability for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. The Zplus coating extends tool life across these secondary materials by reducing heat buildup and edge wear. With a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank and 3 inch overall length, this end mill fits standard ER and precision hydraulic toolholders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC routers in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use with high precision toolholders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metal; secondary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high temperature alloys, and hard materials. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS H45AL-C-3 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and all motion axes at rest. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a high precision toolholder and torque the collet nut or retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts; maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0003 inch. Follow the machine tool builder and cutting tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the workpiece material being machined.
