The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 27257 is a 7-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals. It carries a 0.030-inch corner radius and measures 0.5000 inches in diameter with a 0.6250-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. The APLUS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation during aggressive cutting cycles. Variable pitch geometry reduces harmonic chatter, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing operations in demanding CNC machining environments.
The 27257 belongs to the HEV-7 series and is built for use in professional CNC milling applications involving low-alloy steel, medium-alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with stainless steel and non-ferrous metals as secondary applications. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits high-precision toolholders. Its stub-length configuration and right-hand spiral flute geometry are suited to setups where rigidity and runout control are critical. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders in CNC milling machines. Primary workpiece materials include low-alloy steel, medium-alloy steel, tool steel, and cast iron. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel and non-ferrous metals.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into a high-precision toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before running. Confirm that cutting parameters, including speed, feed, and depth of cut, are set according to the workpiece material and machine capability before commencing operation. Do not use this end mill in non-centercutting plunge operations, as it is not designed for axial plunging.
