The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 13167 is a 3-flute, solid carbide ball end mill designed for material removal in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. It carries an APLUS PVD coating for improved wear resistance and heat management during aggressive cuts. The reduced-neck geometry extends reach while maintaining rigidity, making it well suited for profiling, contouring, and roughing passes in deep-pocket or tight-clearance setups. At 4 inches overall length with a 2.125-inch reach, it gives machinists access to features that standard-length tools cannot reach. A 5/16-inch cutting diameter and 7/16-inch length of cut keep chip loads predictable across a range of feed-and-speed conditions.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling operations where the workpiece material is steel, tool steel, stainless steel, or cast iron. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration suit standard spindle rotation. The reduced neck and stub-length-of-cut design make it a practical choice for die and mold work, aerospace component profiling, and general job-shop roughing where reach into narrow cavities is required. It is sold as a single-end tool, one piece per package.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 5/16-inch shank. Optimized for cutting steel, stainless steel, tool steel, and cast iron as an OEM-style carbide end mill replacement in those material categories.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the 5/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring full engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the toolholder bore and collet for runout before use to protect the h6 shank tolerance and maintain the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR rating.
