The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 01495 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 35-degree helix angle, this tool is engineered to evacuate chips efficiently and reduce built-up edge during aluminum machining. The three-flute geometry balances chip clearance with surface finish quality, making it a practical choice for roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and prototype environments will find this tool well-suited for high-speed aluminum work.
This end mill is intended for use in aluminum milling applications on CNC machining centers and manual mills where chip evacuation and tool life are priorities. The 35-degree helix promotes smooth cutting action in aluminum, reducing chatter and heat generation. With a straight cylindrical shank at 1/2 inch diameter and a 4 inch overall length, it fits standard ER collets and end mill holders common in most shop setups. It carries no coating and presents a bright finish, which is appropriate for aluminum where coatings can sometimes cause material adhesion.
Designed for use in the Helical Solutions End Mills for Aluminum series, 3-Flute Square 35-degree Helix. Intended for aluminum and non-ferrous milling applications in standard 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank tool holders including ER collet chucks and end mill holders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify the shank is fully seated in the collet or holder and that the holder is torqued to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use and confirm runout is within acceptable limits for the application.
