The HELICAL SOLUTIONS 01032 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. With a 1/8 inch (0.125 inch) mill diameter and a 35-degree right-hand helical flute geometry, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces built-up edge during aluminum cuts. The Zplus coating further extends tool life by lowering friction and resisting material adhesion. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch length of cut, the 01032 is suited for light profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry.
This end mill is intended for use in aluminum, brass, plastics, and similar soft to medium non-ferrous workpiece materials. Its 3-flute configuration balances chip load and surface finish — more material removal than a 2-flute while maintaining adequate gullet space to prevent chip packing in gummy materials like aluminum. The 1/8 inch shank matches the mill diameter, making it compatible with standard ER collet systems and small-bore tool holders. Typical applications include fixture work, prototype machining, and detail profiling on CNC routers and vertical machining centers.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement end mill for standard 1/8 inch ER collet chucks and straight-bore tool holders used in CNC vertical machining centers and CNC routers. Part of the HELICAL SOLUTIONS End Mills for Aluminum - 3 Flute - Square - 35 Degree Helix series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an E-stop or powered-down state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended grip length — insufficient engagement increases runout and risk of pull-out under cutting loads. Verify collet nut torque per the tool holder manufacturer specification before beginning a cut.
