The HELI-COIL A1185-2CN410 is a free running helical wire thread insert designed to repair damaged internal threads or establish new threads in softer base materials. Manufactured from 304 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this insert accepts 8-32 UNC fasteners and measures 0.41 inches in overall length at a 2-1/2D length-to-diameter ratio. The tanged style allows standard installation tooling to drive and seat the insert, after which the tang is broken off flush. Maintenance technicians, machinists, and field service professionals use these inserts to restore thread integrity in aluminum, cast iron, and other materials without replacing the host component.

Installation Notes
