The HELI-COIL A1185-1CN324 is a free running wire thread insert designed to create strong, durable internal threads in tapped holes. Manufactured from 304 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tanged insert measures 0.324 inches in overall length and is sized for 12-24 UNC thread applications. The coiled wire construction distributes load across multiple thread engagement points, protecting the parent material from wear and allowing stripped or damaged threads to be restored to full-strength specification. Installation requires a dedicated HELI-COIL tap and installation tool. This insert is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Installation Notes

Installation requires a HELI-COIL-compatible STI tap and the appropriate insertion tool for 12-24 inserts - standard drill bits and taps are not suitable substitutes. The parent hole must be tapped to STI dimensions before installing the insert. After the insert is driven to the correct depth, the tang is broken off using a tang break-off tool. Follow applicable torque and thread engagement specifications per the equipment manufacturer or relevant fastener standards.
