The HELI-COIL 06CSB is a spiral point STI tap designed to cut threads sized for HELI-COIL wire thread inserts in 6-32 UNC applications. Made from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this plug-chamfer tap features 2 flutes and an H2 thread limit. It produces 3B class of fit threads, which is the standard tolerance for most threaded insert applications. With an overall length of 2.375 inches and a thread length of 0.875 inches, it fits standard tap handles and CNC holders. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and HVAC or mechanical contractors use this tap when repairing stripped threads with HELI-COIL inserts.

This tap is specifically ground to STI (Screw Thread Insert) dimensions, which produce an oversized thread profile that accommodates the wall thickness of a wire thread insert.
