The HARVEY TOOL FBD1130-C3 is a solid carbide micro drill bit engineered for flat-bottom drilling in precision machining applications. It carries a No. 33 wire gauge designation, corresponding to a decimal diameter of 0.1130 inches. The 180-degree flat-bottom point geometry eliminates the angled tip common to standard twist drills, producing a true flat-bottomed hole with minimal breakthrough burr. An AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in harder workpiece materials. The overall length is 63 millimeters, with a spiral flute configuration for efficient chip evacuation. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. This drill is part of the Harvey Tool Miniature High Performance Drills - Flat Bottom Drill series.
This tool is suited for precision machining operations where flat-bottom bores are required, such as counterbores, blind holes, and stepped bore features. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace component machining, medical device manufacturing, and high-tolerance fixture fabrication. The h6 diameter tolerance on the drill body supports use in close-tolerance setups. It is installed in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision manual mills by machinists and toolmakers working in job shop or production environments. The 4.00 millimeter shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems sized for metric shanks.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and precision drilling setups equipped with collet toolholding systems that accept a 4.00 millimeter metric shank diameter. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature High Performance Drills - Flat Bottom Drill series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Seat the shank fully and evenly in a clean, undamaged collet before torquing the collet nut to the toolholder specification. Confirm spindle runout with a test indicator before initiating a cut, as runout is especially critical at small diameters. Do not use this drill in impact-type or hammer drill drivers.
