The HARVEY TOOL 998945-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precision edge chamfering and deburring in metalworking applications. The cutter head measures 1/16 inch in diameter with a 1/8 inch shank diameter and an overall length of 1.5 inches. The 1/32 inch length of cut and 90-degree included angle make it well-suited for clean, consistent chamfers on tight-tolerance workpieces. An AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. Two flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide chip clearance in small-bore and edge-prep operations. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in precision machining environments.
This chamfer mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where small-diameter chamfering is required. It is commonly applied to edge breaking, countersinking light chamfers, and deburring on ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials. The small cutter diameter makes it particularly useful for detailed workpieces with limited clearance around the chamfer zone. Machinists working in aerospace, mold and die, medical device, and general precision manufacturing will find this tool applicable for fine edge preparation work.
Designed as a direct-fit chamfer mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills using standard 1/8 inch collet or toolholder systems.
This tool is installed by machinists using standard collet chucks or end mill holders sized for a 1/8 inch shank. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Verify collet runout is within acceptable limits before use, as runout on small-diameter carbide tools accelerates wear and can cause breakage. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool length offsets.
