The HARVEY TOOL 996362-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finish milling in hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. It carries a 0.062 inch mill diameter, a 0.01 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes optimized for finishing passes rather than bulk material removal. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating adds heat and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-speed finishing in difficult materials. With an extended-reach geometry and a 1/4 inch straight shank, it fits standard collet toolholders and high-precision toolholders alike. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and precision CNC operators are the typical users.
This end mill belongs to Harvey Tool's End Mills for Hardened Steels - Finishers - Corner Radius series. It is intended for finishing operations in hardened ferrous materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys (ISO material codes P, M, K, and H). The extended-reach, single-end configuration makes it useful where reach into deep pockets or narrow features is required while maintaining a controlled corner radius for blended surface transitions.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Intended for finish milling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys as part of the End Mills for Hardened Steels - Finishers - Corner Radius series.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with carbide end mill handling and runout tolerances. Seat the 1/4 inch straight shank fully in a matched collet or high-precision toolholder to minimize runout, which is especially critical given the tight corner radius tolerance. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use; carbide tools are brittle and can chip if dropped or improperly stored. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut appropriate for finishing operations in hardened materials.
