The HARVEY TOOL 991920 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 5/16-inch cutting diameter and a 15/32-inch (0.469-inch) length of cut, this single-end tool delivers clean, accurate square-shoulder profiles. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well-suited for non-ferrous materials, plastics, and general-purpose machining where coating adhesion could be a concern. At 6 inches overall length with a 4.343-inch extended reach, it handles deeper cavity and long-reach applications without sacrificing rigidity.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines across job shops, tool-and-die operations, aerospace component shops, and general metalworking environments. The 5/16-inch shank diameter mates directly with standard ER collets and end mill holders. The extended reach geometry makes it particularly useful for mold work, deep pockets, and features where standard-length tooling cannot access the workpiece. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow the conventional spindle rotation standard found on virtually all vertical machining centers.
Designed as a standard 5/16-inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems sized for 5/16-inch bore diameter on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout on solid carbide tooling accelerates wear and increases chipping risk.
