The HARVEY TOOL 988445 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 1/8 inch cutter head diameter and a 90-degree included angle, making it well suited for producing consistent chamfers in tight spaces and on small-diameter features. The double-end geometry and right-hand cutting direction are matched to standard CNC and manual milling setups. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch shank, it fits directly into collet chucks and small-bore toolholders without additional adapters. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composite materials where coating adhesion or thermal buildup is not a concern.
This chamfer mill is intended for use in precision machining environments including tool-and-die shops, medical device manufacturing, aerospace component work, and general CNC milling operations. Its compact diameter makes it particularly useful for chamfering small bores, countersinking pilot holes, and deburring edges on intricate parts where larger tooling cannot reach. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working with vertical machining centers, manual mills, and multi-axis platforms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement chamfer mill for use in 1/8 inch collet chucks and toolholders on standard CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end-mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as small-diameter carbide tooling is sensitive to excessive runout and may fracture.
