The HARVEY TOOL 982193 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metal and non-ferrous materials. With a 3/32 inch (0.093 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.139 inch length of cut, this three-flute tool delivers a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality in light to moderate cutting applications. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and efficient chip flow. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for materials where coating adhesion is not required or where coating cost is not justified. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills alike.
This end mill fits standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders, making it a practical choice for shops already equipped for small-diameter tooling. The 2.5 inch overall length and 0.95 inch reach length allow access to moderately deep features without excessive overhang. The extended reach geometry supports operations where a standard-reach tool would interfere with a workpiece fixture or cavity wall. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on most CNC equipment.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Suitable for applications requiring a small-diameter square end mill with a 0.139 inch length of cut.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer torque and runout specifications for the collet or tool holder in use. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Verify collet condition and cleanliness before seating the shank to prevent runout that can cause premature tool failure at this diameter. Small-diameter carbide end mills are brittle — avoid side-loading beyond the rated depth of cut.
