The HARVEY TOOL 978123-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precise chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 3/16 inch cutter head diameter and a 3-flute, right-hand cutting configuration, this tool delivers clean, consistent angled cuts in tight spaces. The AlTiN coating extends tool life by improving heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch shank diameter, it fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks used across CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This chamfer mill is suited for production and prototype machining environments where controlled chamfer angles are required. With included angles of 45 degrees and 135 degrees, it handles common chamfer geometries on holes, slots, and part edges. A 0.178 inch length of cut provides adequate engagement for standard chamfer depths on light to medium workpieces. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and manufacturing facilities are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfer mill for use in standard 3/16 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before tool changes. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to ensure concentricity and prevent premature tool wear.
