Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, undamaged collet before torquing the collet nut to the tool holder specification. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before use, as micro-diameter carbide tools are susceptible to chipping during handling. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate spindle speeds and feed rates for the specific workpiece material.
