The HARVEY TOOL 966025-C3 is a miniature ball end mill designed for precision milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It features a 0.025-inch cutting diameter with a 0.0125-inch nose radius, a 3-flute helical geometry, and a solid carbide construction with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating. The long-reach, stub-flute configuration allows the tool to access deep or confined features while maintaining rigidity. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting and flute direction, it is suited for both roughing and finishing operations in ferrous and abrasion-resistant workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists use this tool for tight-tolerance contouring and profiling work.
This end mill is built for miniature and micro-scale milling applications where cutter diameter, reach, and runout tolerance are critical. The 0.025-inch diameter and 0.037-inch length of cut make it appropriate for fine detail work, small radius features, and complex 3D surface profiles. The stub flute length paired with extended reach geometry helps reduce deflection when working in slots, pockets, or contoured surfaces at depth. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical 0.125-inch shank, fitting standard ER collet systems and miniature toolholders commonly used in precision CNC machining centers.
Designed for use in CNC machining applications on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Part of the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills series for long-reach, stub-flute ball applications.
This tool is installed and operated by CNC machinists using precision collet or toolholding systems; confirm collet bore matches the 0.125-inch shank diameter before seating the tool. Always verify spindle runout before running miniature-diameter end mills, as excess runout accelerates tool wear and breakage at small diameters. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed when working with sub-0.030-inch diameter tooling. Do not exceed rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material designation.
