The HARVEY TOOL 960420 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precise chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on metal and other rigid materials. Built with two flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end tool delivers clean, consistent angled cuts. The cutter head measures 1/2 inch in diameter with an included angle of 40 to 140 degrees, giving machinists broad flexibility across a range of chamfer profiles. At 3 inches overall length with an 11/16-inch length of cut, the 960420 suits a wide range of milling setups. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a solid choice for general-purpose applications where coating is not required.
This chamfer mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It is commonly used for chamfering holes, deburring part edges, countersinking, and creating V-groove profiles in steel, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders found in most shops.
Designed as a general-purpose chamfer mill compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills using standard 1/2-inch end mill holders or ER collet systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the 1/2-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and replace the tool if wear is evident.
