The HARVEY TOOL 956860-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding materials. With a 0.06-inch cutting diameter, 4-flute geometry, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers clean square shoulders and stable chip evacuation in tight-tolerance applications. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials by reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. The extended-reach configuration, with a 0.312-inch reach length and 0.18-inch length of cut, makes it well suited for deep pocket and step milling where tool clearance is limited. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in prototype, die, and mold applications will find this geometry dependable at micro-diameter scales.
This end mill is intended for CNC machining centers handling fine-feature work in steel, stainless steel, hardened alloys, and similar ferrous materials where AlTiN coating provides a thermal and wear advantage. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and collet toolholders common in vertical machining centers and high-speed spindle setups. The single-end, right-hand cutting direction suits conventional climb-milling routines. Its 1.5-inch overall length keeps overhang manageable while the extended reach handles deeper floor features without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles equipped with 1/8-inch collet or ER toolholders. Suitable for applications requiring a length-of-cut range of 0.10 to 0.20 inches.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully and evenly into the collet before torquing the nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as runout is especially consequential at sub-1/8-inch diameters. Consult the machine tool manufacturer's feed and speed recommendations for micro-diameter carbide tooling at the target material hardness.
