The HARVEY TOOL 954612 is a solid carbide pointed engraving cutter designed for precision engraving and marking operations on metallic workpieces. Built with a 60-degree included angle and a single right-hand flute, this cutter produces clean, sharp V-profiles in both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 1/4-inch diameter cutting head pairs with a 1/4-inch shank for direct chuck or collet mounting on CNC machining centers and engraving machines. With a 0.216-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length, it suits shallow engraving passes where accurate depth control and edge definition matter. Machinists and toolroom professionals install this cutter as a standard production or prototype marking tool.
This cutter is suited for engraving, identification marking, and decorative or functional V-groove work on ferrous metals such as steel and stainless, as well as non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper. Its uncoated solid carbide construction maintains edge sharpness across a range of material hardnesses and is appropriate for both light-production CNC runs and manual engraving setups in machine shops and fabrication environments.
Designed for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Compatible with CNC machining centers and engraving machines accepting a 1/4-inch shank tool.
Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom professionals. Secure the 1/4-inch shank fully into the collet or tool holder and verify runout before operation. Power down and de-energize the spindle before inserting or removing the cutter. Follow the machine manufacturer and ANSI B11 series guidelines for safe cutting tool setup and speeds.
