The HARVEY TOOL 954262-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. Built on Harvey Tool's Variable Helix platform for high-temperature alloy applications, this single-end, centercutting tool features a 0.0620-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0100-inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in abrasive and elevated-temperature cutting conditions. The stub-length configuration and 0.748-inch length of cut make it well-suited to rigid, precision setups where deflection control is critical.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-precision toolholders where close tolerances are required. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloy workpieces. The corner radius geometry distributes cutting forces away from a sharp edge, reducing chipping and extending tool life compared to a square end profile. It is compatible with high-precision toolholders and is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys (material codes P, M, K, H). Part of the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for High Temp Alloys - Corner Radius series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state. At this diameter, runout control is critical — use a high-precision collet or hydraulic toolholder and verify runout before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque for the 0.1250-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before each use to confirm the corner radius geometry is intact.
