The HARVEY TOOL 950262 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and deep-reach applications. With a 1/16 inch (0.0620 inch) cutting diameter and a 2-flute, right-hand spiral configuration, it delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single tool. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while reducing cutting forces. The ball nose geometry produces a 0.0310 inch nose radius, making it well suited for contoured surfaces, blended radii, and complex 3D profiles. A bright, uncoated finish preserves dimensional sharpness at small diameters. Licensed trade machinists and CNC setup technicians are the typical installers of this tool.
This end mill is built for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and N. The long-reach geometry provides a 0.7500 inch reach length and a 0.5640 inch neck length, allowing access to deep pockets, slots, and stepped features that standard-length miniature end mills cannot reach. The 0.1860 inch length of cut (LOC) handles shallow passes at small diameters. It is a single-end tool with a straight-cylindrical 1/8 inch shank, fitting standard collet systems on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank via ER collet or equivalent workholding. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. At miniature diameters, runout control is critical — verify TIR at the cutting end before starting the program to avoid tool breakage.
