The HARVEY TOOL 942293-C8 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries. Built from solid carbide and coated with Titanium Diboride (TiB2), this tool delivers hardness and lubricity suited for high-speed cutting in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 42-degree variable helix and centercutting capability, allowing both plunge and peripheral cuts. With a 3/32 inch cutting diameter, 0.279 inch length of cut, and 1/8 inch shank diameter, this end mill is purpose-built for fine detail work, micro-channel milling, and finishing passes in confined areas. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in tool-and-die, mold-making, and precision part production will find this tool appropriate for demanding applications.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. The 1-1/2 inch overall length and 1/8 inch shank keep the tool compact and rigid, minimizing deflection during operation. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with standard spindle setups. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and light plunge milling in aluminum, brass, steel, and similar materials where tight tolerances are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring small-diameter tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or tool holder to the recommended grip depth to prevent runout and premature tool failure. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, particularly at this diameter where deflection tolerances are tight.
