The HARVEY TOOL 920624 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and similar materials. With a 3/8 inch cutting diameter and a 9/16 inch length of cut, it handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight tolerances. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle supports efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. The reduced 5/16 inch shank allows access to applications requiring a smaller tool shank relative to cutter diameter. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute tool with a bright uncoated finish, making it easy to inspect for wear. It is sized and built for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where a 3/8 inch diameter cutter is required. The 6 inch overall length provides extended reach for deeper setups or work-holding situations that require additional clearance between the spindle and the workpiece. The centercutting capability allows for plunge cuts directly into the material without a pre-drilled entry point. Typical applications include profiling, contouring, slotting, and pocket milling in precision machining environments.
Designed as a standard square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collets or end mill holders accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 5/16 inch shank and torque the retention hardware according to the machine and holder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping before beginning the cut.
