The HARVEY TOOL 898208-C4 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for cutting plastics with high precision and clean edge quality. Part of the End Mills for Plastics Square Upcut 2-Flute High Helix series, this tool features an amorphous diamond coating that reduces friction and heat buildup during cuts. With a 0.375-inch length of cut, a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank, and a 1.5-inch overall length, it is sized for light-duty profiling and slotting operations in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists and tooling specialists working with acrylic, polycarbonate, HDPE, and similar materials will find this geometry effective for chip evacuation and surface finish.
This end mill is intended for use in plastic machining applications where upcut flute geometry and high helix angles help pull chips clear of the workpiece and reduce melting or smearing at the cut edge. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding its usefulness in both 2D profiling and 3D contouring operations. Its compact 1.5-inch overall length suits short-reach setups on benchtop CNC routers and vertical machining centers alike. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in CNC machining centers, routers, and manual mills equipped with collet systems or end mill holders accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed only with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe lockout state. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts. Tool selection, speeds, and feeds should be validated against the material grade and machine capability by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer.
