The HARVEY TOOL 894262 is a miniature square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature applications. Built from solid carbide, this single-end tool features a 1/16-inch cutting diameter, a 3/8-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle. With three flutes and a right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality in difficult-to-reach areas. The bright uncoated finish makes it well-suited for a broad range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers use this tool in vertical machining centers and CNC mills where small-diameter, long-flute capability is required.
This end mill is built for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and CFRP composite materials. Its long-flute geometry relative to the cutting diameter makes it appropriate for deep-pocket milling, slot cutting, and contour work in miniature components. Typical applications include mold and die work, medical device machining, aerospace detail parts, and electronics enclosures where tight tolerances and small features are standard. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and miniature tool holders commonly found in precision machining setups.
This tool fits standard 1/8-inch collet chucks and miniature tool holders. It is part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Square - Long Flute series, designed for CNC milling applications requiring small-diameter, long-flute solid carbide tooling across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and CFRP materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Use a calibrated torque wrench when tightening the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. At 1/16-inch diameter, this tool is highly susceptible to deflection and breakage if runout is not minimized — verify TIR with a dial indicator before running the first cut.
