The HARVEY TOOL 888493-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal and hard material applications. With a 3/32 inch (0.093 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/8 inch length of cut, this tool removes material efficiently in tight spaces and shallow pockets. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with rigidity, making it well suited for finishing passes and light slotting. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides elevated heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. The 30-degree right-hand helix promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find this end mill appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual mills alike.
This end mill is intended for use in precision machining environments where small-diameter tooling is required. Typical applications include mold and die work, component profiling, and pocket milling in stainless steel, alloy steel, titanium, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. The single-end, centercutting design allows for plunge entry as well as peripheral cuts. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC routers. The 2-1/2 inch overall length gives adequate clearance for most fixturing setups while maintaining stiffness at this diameter.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and manual vertical mills. Suitable for ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and other hard workpiece materials where AlTiN coating performance is applicable.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. At this diameter, runout control is critical - verify TIR with a dial indicator before cutting to avoid premature tool breakage.
