The HARVEY TOOL 874005-C3 is a miniature corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, this single-end tool measures 3 mm (0.1180 inches) in cutting diameter with a 0.04-inch corner radius and a 9 mm length of cut. Four right-hand helical flutes at a 30-degree helix angle deliver clean chip evacuation and a balance of roughing and finishing capability. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 1.5-inch overall length make this tool compatible with standard miniature toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators working in precision shops install this tool where tight corner radii and fine surface finishes are required in hard or abrasive workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials in both roughing and finishing operations. Its stub and standard series classification makes it appropriate for applications where a compact reach and rigid cutting geometry are priorities, such as die and mold work, medical component machining, and tight-tolerance aerospace or industrial part production. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in ferrous and abrasive materials compared to uncoated carbide tools.
Designed for use with standard miniature toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before inserting the shank. Verify runout after tool installation, as miniature end mills are sensitive to even small amounts of holder eccentricity. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and tool diameter; do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended parameters for this diameter class.
