The HARVEY TOOL 869408-C6 is a solid carbide engraving cutter designed for precision material removal in hardened steel applications. Built with a 90-degree included angle and a tip radius point geometry, this cutter delivers accurate, repeatable engraving and marking paths in demanding workpiece materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and surface wear at the cutting edge. With a 1/8-inch cutter diameter, a 0.058-inch length of cut, and a right-hand cutting direction, it is suited for CNC machining centers and engraving machines where tight tolerances and fine detail work are required. Machinists and tooling specialists working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
This engraving cutter is intended for use on hardened steel in CNC milling and engraving operations. Its compact 1/8-inch diameter and short 0.058-inch length of cut make it appropriate for fine feature work, part marking, and intricate engraving paths where tool rigidity and edge integrity are critical. The 1/8-inch shank fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and dedicated engraving spindles. The 1-1/2-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard fixturing setups without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed for use on hardened steel materials. Fits standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and engraving machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into a matched collet and torque the collet nut according to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on small-diameter carbide tooling.
