The HARVEY TOOL 864678 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.0780 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and a 0.5 inch length of cut, making it well suited for tight-tolerance finishing and light roughing passes in confined features. The 3-flute geometry with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix balances chip evacuation and surface finish. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and precision manual mills where small-diameter, close-tolerance work is required. It targets steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, composites, and wood. The stub standard length profile keeps deflection low, which is critical when milling hardened or difficult alloys at small diameters. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling, adding flexibility to programmed toolpaths.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 0.1250 inch shank diameter. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, composites, and wood. Part of the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills Corner Radius Stub and Standard series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the 0.1250 inch straight-cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder collet and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. At this diameter, runout control is critical — use a high-precision collet or hydraulic holder to minimize deflection and tool breakage risk.
