The HARVEY TOOL 864678-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. It carries a 0.078-inch cutting diameter, a 0.01-inch corner radius, and a 0.117-inch length of cut in stub configuration. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous materials at elevated surface speeds. With three helical flutes in a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end tool is suited for both roughing and finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, and medical manufacturing reach for this size class when feature geometry demands it.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and mill-turn platforms where small-diameter, high-precision work is routine. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites. The stub-length geometry reduces deflection in interrupted cuts and thin-wall features. A straight cylindrical shank seats in a standard collet or toolholder and is compatible with common ER-style and shrink-fit systems without special adapters.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials as listed in the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Stub and Standard series.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom operator. Before changing tooling, verify the spindle is at a full stop and machine power is in a safe state per shop lockout-tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run — miniature-diameter end mills are sensitive to even small amounts of spindle or holder runout.
