The HARVEY TOOL 858593-C8 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. With a cutter diameter of 3/32 inches (0.0930 inches decimal) and a 9/64-inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers controlled material removal in tight geometries. The 42-degree variable helix and three-flute design reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation. A Titanium Diboride (TiB2) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in abrasive or difficult-to-machine materials. The downcut flute configuration pushes chips downward, making it well suited for applications where surface finish and edge quality on the top face of the workpiece are critical.
This end mill is used in CNC milling operations across industries requiring fine detail work, including moldmaking, aerospace component machining, and precision part production. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems on vertical machining centers and CNC routers. The 1-1/2-inch overall length provides sufficient reach for most shallow-pocket and profiling operations without sacrificing rigidity. Machinists working with composites, hardwoods, plastics, and non-ferrous metals will find the downcut geometry especially useful for minimizing delamination and surface tearout.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and routers equipped with standard 1/8-inch collets or tool holders. Suitable for milling operations in composites, plastics, non-ferrous metals, and hardwoods where a downcut geometry is appropriate.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut according to the collet manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
