The HARVEY TOOL 857308-C8 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 1/2 inch length of cut, this single-end tool is built for tight-tolerance work in steel, aluminum, and other machinable materials. The 3-flute geometry combined with a 42-degree variable helix angle improves chip evacuation and reduces chatter, making it well-suited for high-speed finishing and light profiling passes. A titanium diboride (TiB2) coating adds surface hardness and lubricity to extend tool life in abrasive or high-temperature cutting environments.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and multi-axis platforms where small-diameter tooling is required. The 1/8 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for direct collet mounting. At 2.5 inches overall length, the tool maintains rigidity while providing adequate reach for most standard setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle configurations. Machinists working on precision parts, die work, engraving pockets, or finishing contours in confined geometry will find this geometry appropriate for the application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production solid carbide square end mill suitable for CNC and manual milling machines equipped with collets or tool holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholder torque requirements and runout verification. Secure the shank fully within the collet to the recommended minimum engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters against the material being cut before initiating a toolpath. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use and replace the tool if wear exceeds acceptable limits.
