The HARVEY TOOL 853945-C3 is a 2-flute solid carbide chamfer mill designed for chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The tool features an AlTiN coating for improved heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. With a 1/16 inch cutter head diameter and a 90-degree included angle, it is suited for small-scale chamfering work where precision and repeatability are critical. The 1/8 inch shank and 2.5 inch overall length make it compatible with standard collet toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists and CNC operators are the primary end users.
This chamfer mill is intended for use in precision machining applications where consistent edge geometry is required. The single-end design and 90-degree included angle make it well suited for producing clean chamfers on drilled holes, slots, and part edges. The 1/32 inch length of cut keeps the engagement zone tight, which is appropriate for fine detail work on small features. The AlTiN coating helps maintain cutting performance in higher-temperature applications such as dry or semi-dry machining of hardened steels and stainless alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfer mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collet or toolholder systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator using a compatible collet or end mill holder sized for the 1/8 inch shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured to the correct runout specification for the application before engaging the workpiece. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements when changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or radial engagement for the 1/32 inch length of cut to avoid tool breakage.
