The HARVEY TOOL 840762 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum alloys, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and composite materials. With a 1/16 inch cutting diameter and a 0.0100 inch corner radius, it delivers precise edge profiles while reducing corner chipping in demanding applications. The variable helix geometry helps suppress chatter and promotes smooth chip evacuation. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 5/16 inch length of cut, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both roughing and finishing operations. It is sized for use in high-precision toolholders and suits CNC machining environments where tight tolerances and surface finish are critical.
This end mill is built for shops running aluminum alloy workpieces as its primary target, while remaining capable across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, wood, and composite materials. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 42-degree helix angle supports efficient chip removal at higher feed rates. The bright uncoated finish is well suited to non-ferrous machining where coating adhesion or chemical reaction with aluminum is a concern. It fits a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank and is appropriate for use in high-precision collet chucks or end mill holders on CNC mills and machining centers.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Part of the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for Aluminum Alloys - Corner Radius series and Material Specific End Mills series.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended gage line depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade corner radius accuracy.
