The HARVEY TOOL 838810-C3 is a solid carbide double angle milling cutter designed for precision dovetail slotting, chamfering, and angular groove milling in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It features a 90-degree included angle, a 5/32-inch cutting diameter, and a 5/64-inch cutting width, making it suited for tight-tolerance applications where a full-sized end mill cannot reach. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in harder materials. With 6 teeth and a 3/16-inch shank, this cutter mounts directly into a standard collet or tool holder and is run by CNC machinists and manual mill operators on production and job-shop floors.
This cutter is used in metalworking and machining applications requiring symmetric angular profiles on both sides of a feature. The 90-degree included angle allows it to cut equal 45-degree chamfers on opposing faces in a single pass. Its compact 5/32-inch cut diameter and 2-inch overall length make it appropriate for small-part work, mold and die features, and dovetail preparation in aluminum, steel, stainless, and hardened alloys. A 5/64-inch neck diameter and 1/4-inch neck length provide the necessary clearance for recessed or stepped workpiece geometries.
Designed for use with standard 3/16-inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. No specific model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or manual mill operators. Secure the 3/16-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the machine manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before starting the cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Never exceed the cutter manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the coating type and workpiece material.
