The HARVEY TOOL 836408-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of materials. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 3/8 inch length of cut, this three-flute tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean square-shoulder profiles. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists and toolroom operators select this geometry for detailed work requiring tight tolerances and smooth finishes.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temp alloys where AlTiN coatings perform well. The 30-degree helix angle balances cutting pressure and chip flow, making it appropriate for both roughing and light finishing passes. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding flexibility in slotting and pocket milling operations. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and precision part production on vertical machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill compatible with standard 1/8 inch collets and toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the drawbar or collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use, and verify runout at setup to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
