The HARVEY TOOL 82408 is an ER32 collet sized at 0.3750 inches (3/8 inch), designed for use in ER32-compatible collet chucks on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and lathes. This collet holds cutting tools and workpieces with a Total Indicator Runout (TIR) of 0.0004 inches, delivering the concentricity required for precision milling, drilling, and reaming operations. Machinists and CNC operators install this collet as a standard toolholding component where consistent grip, accurate tool positioning, and repeatable runout performance are required. It does not include through-coolant capability.
The HARVEY TOOL 82408 is suited for general-purpose machining applications in job shops, production environments, and tool rooms. It fits any machine spindle or toolholder that accepts the ER32 collet series. Typical uses include holding end mills, drill bits, reamers, and taps at the 3/8-inch shank diameter. This collet is sold individually and is a direct addition to or replacement within an existing ER32 toolholding setup.
Designed as a standard ER32-series collet for use with any ER32-compatible collet chuck or toolholder accepting a 3/8-inch bore collet.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing collets. Seat the collet fully into the nut before threading onto the chuck body to prevent collet damage. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for chips or debris before assembly, as contamination directly affects runout performance.
