The HARVEY TOOL 815377-C3 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight tolerances and small-diameter applications. Sized at wire gauge 52 (0.0635 inches), it features a 130-degree drill point angle and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in abrasive or hard materials. The overall length is 2.0000 inches with a 1/8-inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks used in machining centers and CNC setups. Right-hand cutting direction. This bit is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators working in production or prototype environments.
This drill bit belongs to the Miniature Drills series and is intended for small-hole drilling in metals, composites, and other hard materials where standard twist drills are too large or insufficiently rigid. Typical applications include PCB drilling, instrument components, mold making, and precision part manufacturing. The AlTiN coating makes it particularly suited for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions and for materials that generate high cutting temperatures. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in deep or blind hole drilling at small diameters.
Designed for use with standard collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter, as used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-held spindles in the Miniature Drills series.
This bit is installed and operated by machinists using appropriate CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle and workholding are fully secured and the machine is at a safe state before changing tooling. Use a collet or chuck rated for 1/8-inch shank diameter and verify runout before drilling to prevent breakage at this small diameter. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling.
