The HARVEY TOOL 790345 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for deburring, chamfering, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 1/4 inch cutter head diameter with a 90-degree included angle and a 2-flute, single-end configuration. It is ground from solid carbide for rigidity and wear resistance at higher feeds and speeds than high-speed steel alternatives. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well-suited for non-ferrous materials including aluminum, brass, and copper where coating adhesion or built-up edge can be a concern. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this tool in CNC machining centers and manual milling setups.
This chamfer mill is used in precision machining environments for creating consistent 45-degree chamfers on part edges, countersinking holes, and cleaning up sharp burrs left by drilling or milling operations. The 1/8 inch length of cut and 1/4 inch shank diameter make it appropriate for lighter-duty chamfering passes in both prototype and production runs. It fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders accepting 1/4 inch shanks.

This tool is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Confirm spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/4 inch shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the machine manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to edge damage if dropped or mishandled.
