The HARVEY TOOL 749412-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0250 inch corner radius, and a 4-flute variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish during both roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating extends tool life in high-heat cutting conditions. This end mill is single-end, centercutting, and uses a straight-cylindrical shank, making it compatible with standard high-precision toolholders. It is typically installed by machinists and CNC operators working in precision job shops or production environments.
This end mill is designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys, including high-temperature alloys that generate significant cutting heat. The variable helix design is particularly effective in applications where chatter suppression is critical, such as deep pockets, slots, and contoured surfaces in aerospace, mold-and-die, and industrial component machining. With a short flute length of 0.285 inches LOC and a 2-inch overall length, it suits tight-tolerance finish work and semi-finish operations where rigidity and runout control are priorities.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys including high-temperature alloy materials. Part of the HARVEY TOOL Variable Helix End Mills for High Temp Alloys - Corner Radius series and the Material Specific End Mills series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine spindle fully stopped and power isolated. Use a high-precision collet or shrink-fit toolholder to minimize runout, which directly affects tool life and part tolerance. Verify tool stick-out is minimized to maintain rigidity. Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for feeds, speeds, and coolant strategy appropriate to the workpiece material.
