The HARVEY TOOL 73190-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. With a 13/64 inch (0.2031 inch) cutting diameter and a 5/8 inch length of cut, this single-end tool removes material cleanly across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Four right-hand flutes with a 30-degree helix angle deliver smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting geometry. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production environments, and toolrooms.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling operations on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers, as well as manual knee mills. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders in that size range. The 2-1/2 inch overall length keeps deflection low in typical setups. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding versatility in pocketing operations. Applications commonly include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials where an AlTiN coating provides a thermal barrier.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/4 inch collet chucks or end mill holders. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous milling applications where an AlTiN-coated solid carbide tool is specified.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the collet and bore for chips or wear before seating the tool. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the tool manufacturer guidelines for the specific workpiece material before initiating a cut.
